I’m not the romantic type. Take it or leave it. So when Frenchguy gave me the reservation card on one of the most reputed restaurant in Dijon, I started complaining... till he said it’s for me and my mom.

Oh (pause). That made me stop complaining… till I realized it’s still Valentine’s Day and it’s still baduy! The complains continued till I finally found a parking space and parked my car - probably a hundred meter from the restaurant! What an idea to go out for dinner on Valentine’s Day!

Well, okay. I’ll stop complaining..

The restaurant is set in a lovely décor situated in an old wine cellar at the basement. The ambiance required a certain level of standing, Burgundy snobbism at its best. I told my Mom, Let them do the job. Just go with the flow. An employee took off our coats and accompanied us to our table. She then pulled the chair back to help us sit comfortably. My Mom started to observe the place, overwhelmed by the thickness of walls surrounding us – not even a bomb could destroy them, me thinks.

Dinner was officially announced when the amuse bouche were served. I have this bad habit of counting the hours when I dine in fine restaurants like that (we dined for 3 hours, 6 servings). I also checked the list of wines which almost made me choke. But anyway, I couldn’t take a bottle, I’m driving palusot pa!. Each meal were finely prepared, beautifully decorated and well presented. I told my Mom to just smile and say merci pour each explanation of our meal. She then asked me if we could take a picture. I said yes if she wouldn’t mind being looked at - it’s like announcing that we don’t belong there. It’s not a restaurant where common tourist go only those who want to taste Bourgogne gastronomy at its finest. With that, she suddenly changed her mind.

The conversation was the highlight of the night – it was Valentine-inspired, what else. You wouldn’t believe it but we talked about our ex-es, our crushes, those who courted us, about my Dad and about my Frenchguy. We were like young girls talking about our respective prince charming. My Mom’s 65 year old and so what? Lol.

What about you? Anything special on Valentine’s Day?

I think what your husband did is the most romantic thing I've heard in a long long time!

As for our Valentine's Day, Xav and I just stayed home and annoyed our dog and Thomas. Like Haze's husband, we see everyday as V-Day! And also we're on a budget:)

Auee, hehe, ayan, i posted a picture which frenchguy took before we went out. not the dress-to-kill type tho, lol.

Francesca, ewan ko nga dito, sipsip kay ma-dear hahaha.. katuwa naman balentayms mo, but if i were to choose, i won't go out on that day too..

Haze, haha, i could imagine you rolling your eyes, palusot nga.. itong si frenchguy, hopeless romantic, mahilg sa surprises, hard to please lang talaga ako, i find it corny e hehehe..

ayan, i posted a pix na ;) but not in the resto, sa bahay lang hahaha.

Joanne, thanks ;). Frenchguy's the romantic type nga minsan.. di kami bagay haha.

Thoughtful naman pala hubby mo sa mother-in-law nya. Mas touching yun di ba?

i agree, very thoughtful and selfless nga si husband! if it were us, iiwan namin mom ko to take care of the kids at kame ang magdi-dinner somewhere fancy. haha, salbahe! :)

kame naman, we didn't do anything during valentines...may allergic rhinitis attack na naman ako kaya wala gana :)

naku eh ka thoughtful naman ni Frenchguy! inggit ako sa 'yo! what i would give to have just one more moment with my mom!

kami nasa Bali nong Valentines. di man lang nga naalala na hearts' day pala til we decided to eat dinner by the beach with our lil boy, and the restaurant had this romantic set-up on the sand with coconut leaves as their wall dividers. i attempted to join them kaya lang dapat daw may reservations and my hubby didn't want to eat there when we had a curious lil one with us always asking questions. masira pa daw yung romantic ambiance for the others :(

wow you and your mom looks great! such a nice valentine's day celebration.
Us, nothing special.Usually we go in our fave resto in Paris while my inlaws took care the kids...but this year no resto! nakurot ko si charlene kc sya may kasalanan *joke* hihi I'm thinking nga next month imi-mixed bottle na namin sya. We just stayed at home during valentine's day, i just got a bouquet of fresh flowers and a new necklace instead of dining out. Oks na and thankful na rin ako sa best half ko. ;-)

Ann, yeah, sweet naman ng kunti tong Frenchguy ko hehehe.

Gracita, lol, I thought about that first hahaha.

IA, what can you ask for, Bali for a Valentine getaway, that's something!

Jelyn, lol, sira ka talaga.

Dhanggit, I'm sure if there's a pinoy resto here, carinderia din ang pupuntahan namin hehe.

Lucille, kurutin daw ba si charlene haha.. pero sweet din ni hubs ha.

Francine, hay, she would always say she's just washing her face with water and nothing else.. minsan kasi, feeling ko mas mukha akong older kesa sa kanya hehe

Hello everyone!
I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For quite a long time, I earn money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my blog to get additional info.
