Finally, I'm on Maternity Leave

It was my last day yesterday. Though my colleagues couldn't believe their eyes, seeing me near my playstation (the machine which I designed, the reason why I was always in Milan last year and early this year) up to the last day, I was still 100% on work mode yesterday. Frenchguy told me that in the history of the company, I was probably the only one who worked up to a month before D Day. Most future moms take their leave 8 weeks before D Day.

But that machine is my baby too. I defined it. The processes which would be installed in it are the processes which I master like no other in our department. No wonder, the management trusted the project to me.

But well, there's more to life than work. I'll be taking care of my kids. I'll be a SAHM, finally, at least for 4 months. Louna will be starting pre-school on Thursday. I had checked some activities for her since there'll be no school every Wednesday. I'll be enrolling her to Music and English for kids. I'm getting excited to see her mingle with other kids. She's been doing baby gym last school year but it was the nanny who's accompanying her. Now, it will be me. Her mom!

The second baby could pop anytime now. I'm preparing all necessary stuffs for the D Day. From maternity bag to baby announcement card.

My maternity leave has just started but my calendar already started to fill up. I need to see my OB Gyne for my monthly check-up then my midwife for my birthing classes. I need to go to the laboratory for a blood analysis. I need to enroll Louna to different activities at the center. I need to file my application for naturalization at the prefecture. I need to go to the pharmacy. I want to have a massage at the newly-opened massage center. I need to plan a visit for my Mexican friend who will be coming over for a week vacation with us. I need to change the design of the baby announcement card because pregnant women change their decisions every second (And hey, haven't you noticed? I changed this blog's layout and Louna's blog's layout too! Call that a milestone because I'm a techno-bobo! And please tell me, the new layout rocks!)

Who says I'm on vacation?

lapit na!! i read somewhere that when a woman nears her date with the stork she goes through a phase called "nesting". when this happens the woman finds the urge to do things like fixing the house, rearranging stuff, mga ganun ba. siguro yan ang method mo of "nesting"...kasi naman engineer ang dating mo, sister :D

congrats in advance!! take it easy lang ha :)

Hey Ana, wow, maternity leave already? It seems like yesterday that I read you were pregnant! Cool that you'll have 4 months of peace and quiet, although I doubt it's going to be peaceful and quiet when the baby arrives :) And yes, the layout rocks :)

Sexymom, ;)

Cookie, probably. Instead of changing anything at home, I focus on my blogs' layout, lol.

Gail, thanks ;)

Kala, lol. I doubt it too..

wow, congrats. maternity leave finally! take extra care, Analyse. remember, bawal ma stress at ma pressure. :)

the last few weeks are said to be the most sleepless days for preggy women. most have something to do with all the excitement. just enjoy your few days as preggy. nakaka miss din yang feeling na yan.

ang galing naman ng maternity leave mo. nataon pa sa opening ng classes ni Louna. am sure, she'll be more than willing to have you as her company in school.

I'll pray for your easy, safe and blissful delivery. :)

Ciao analyse,

Really French, the lay-out that is!hehehe...

My first pregnancy, had my maternity leave 2 weeks before. For my second one, got to stop working when I was 3 months pregnant because of some complications.

Anywayz, just read your question now... Sta. Lucia would be the last stop and that's in Venice already, almost center if you're referring to St. Mark's Square - it would be just a boat away.

While as Mestre is the stop before Sta Lucia and definitely a bit far from Venice, you'll need to take the bus or a taxi then boat before you can reach the

Ooopss bitin yumg huli...before you can reach the "centro"...

Soy, lol. I hope I could get a rendez-vous this week, cant get them on the phone last week! kainis.

Feng, aside from the excitement, there's also backache and shortness of breath that makes me awake most of the time..

well, even if I wasnt on maternity leave yet, i would have taken a day off to bring her to school.. aba e, that's my little girl's milestone kaya ;)

Lovelyn, thanks for the info. that would be a big help. and from mestre, i suppose there are specific buses which would take voyagers to the vaporetto station going to venice?

Hello, i cluv reading your entry. especially about pregnancy. I am pregnant too and living in France. I am learning a lot from you. Anyway, do you have any idea about the requirements needed for the re acquisition of philippine nationality.Called phil embassy but as usual, everybod's too busy to answer the phone. If you can share some info, it would really be very helpful to me.salamat in advance

Welcome to my hideaway Gypsyschild. I have yet to file my application for naturalization tomorrow at the prefecture so I don't have any firsthand experience on the re-acquisition thing. You could check Makis' entry on this topic or you could also ask Haze for infos. They recently re-acquired their filipino nationality so I'm sure they could help you out ;). Goodluck.

And by the way, congratulations on your pregnancy. What's your term? You could also check Ma Crèche Privée for more preggy info. I chronicle detailed mommy stuffs on that site.

Hi,Anna. Thanks for directing me to Makis and Haze's blog. Helped a lot. I am expecting twins and it's for February 2009. For the moment i do all stuff " under the duvet". That's why I have all the time to read your entries, lol. Keep on writing ha. And it's our first "babies", so i really have no idea how it is here. I am soooo glad i found your blog.

Analyse said...

Tina, thanks. that motivates me to improve my layout again, lol.

Francine, congrats on that new work. as long as you're happy with what you're doing, then go. ok lang, me too, i had not much time bloghopping, ngayon na lang ulit.. chat tayo next time..

Thanks Rachel.

Raqgold, naku, kaya nga when my colleagues tease me that i'll go for a long vacation, i really doubted it.. halos wala nga akong time e, lol..

Gypsyschild, wow, twins!!! goodluck! i have a colleague who just had twins and it seems to be a lot of work.. not that i'm frightening you ;). dont hesitate to send me an email if you have questions.. where are you residing here in france nga pala?

Anonymous said...

Goodluck sa pagdating ng bagong baby. Tagal din pala ang maternity leave nyo dyan, daming time to take care of the new baby.

lovelyn said...

Yes there are specific busses, ain't just sure what numbers they are. You better get off at Sta Lucia. Less hassle and the bus adds 30 minutes to the trip.

This navy blue lay-out is nice too. I prefer it than the last one.

Ana,twins nga excited na takot din kami, he,he,he. I am living just outside paris val de marne 94. Sige ha, askkita pag meron akong mga questions. Thanks ulit

Anonymous said...

LOL. You have a very long list of things you want to do and you haven't even started your vacation yet. Hinay hinay lang. Enjoy your time with Louna and looking forward to seeing the new baby!

That new header rocks. I agree with you.

I also did not stop working until near the day I was about to pop (my eldest child). In fact because of my busy schedule (we watched a concert and I labored on the way home) two weeks before my due date :D

The second and third pregnancies I was much more relaxed since I was a WAHM then.

Enjoy your four months and we will eagerly await updates and photos.

Ingat! :)

Analyse said...

Ann, yep, ok din. so at least me time ako to take care of the two girls before i restart work.

Lovelyn, thanks again ;).

Gypsyschild, no probs ;). see ya around.

Greymom, I try to do everything while kaya ko pang kumilos, lol. I know it will be much difficult when the baby's here.

Julie, grabe, buti di ka napaanak during the concert, lol.

I accidentally deleted some comments, ang dami kasing spam, sorry, baka nasama yung syo.

Thank Goodness, you are on maternity leave, bakit naman kasi tumawad ka pa, sobrang sipag naman ng engineer namin :D! O sya I am sure we're always on the net chatting nyehehehe, back to old habits ;)! Catch you later.

Analyse said...

Ann, ngek, malamang :(

Haze, lol. Even Frenchguy's teasing me about that but he knows how hardheaded i am. my boss told me that they dont need to pressure me at work, because i myself fix my own objective.. well, at least, i finalized what i wanted to be done before my maternity leave..

I'm sure you're busy with the class opening.. louna will start tomorrow.

Geri, time flies.. yep, mom of two very soon..

hey analyse! take care of yourself and i hope you have a safe delivery! hugs!
