That was Louna's (rectal) temperature this afternoon when our Nanny called up Frenchguy. He in turn called me up and informed me to ready myself because we will be rushing our daughter to the hospital. On our way to the Nanny's place, I was already imagining the worst scenario - I never saw a child with a temperature that high, 40.5°C!

Louna on our way to emergency. One very common error of first time parents is to wrap their kids with layers of clothes in case of high fever. We're not spared. Mea culpa!

Who would say she's sick? But if you listen carefully to the conversation, you would notice:

Maman : Tu es malade, Louna? (Are you sick, Louna?)
Louna : Oui. (Yes, with a smile.)

She's diagnosed with Otitis Media, thus her frequent touching of her ear. High fever is a common consequent of this illness. She's still sick and under medication but she's still in good mood and still have a good appetite. Hoping for a fast recovery.

I hope Louna is responding to her medications. Ganyan talaga pag may infection. Si Adi went through something similar early this year. Umabot din ng 40 ang temp niya. We rushed her to the ER kasi akala namin dengue. She had an infection and was confined for almost a week.

Thanks Tita Geri.

Gracita, oo nga, I was jokingly telling her nga on our way to ER na papungayin ang mata to look more convincing hehe.. she’s still sick and she doesn’t like the taste of her medicine.. couldn’t they find something with orange flavour or something suited for children? Buhay nanay!

ScroochChronicles, uso nga yata ang dengue dyan ngayon ano ? .. no she wasn’t confined naman. And her nanny still accepted her inspite of her illness..

Mommy Ann, yeah, mas taranta nga ang parents kesa yung may sakit e..

Linnor, she’s still sick but better ;).

Raqgold, the doctor told us last night that children respond differently daw. We were like excusing ourselves kasi Louna doesn’t look that sick and we rushed her to ER.. hay, we’re still learning..

Mitch, I was thinking the same, my first question was ‘Is she trembling?’. Yeah, buti nga andito pa ako, imagine if I receive the news and I’m in Paris (or worst, outside of the country!).

Hehe, that good old method of wrapping the kids with thick clothes.. I knew that I had to uncover her, kaya lang, e ako nga pag may sakit, gusto ko nakabalot din ako e… tigas ng ulo ni Maman hehe..

Oh she looks as pretty as ever kahit may sakit... mas mapula lang than usual ang cheeks :) hope she makes a full recovery soon! The fever is frightening but that means her body is actively fighting the illness, right?

Hmm, when I was a kid kasi my little cousin went into convulsions kasi pina-long sleeves siya at hindi pinayagan na tumapat sa electric fan when he had a fever, so I guess that's why I make sure to keep Annika cool and ventilated when she's sick.

Hi there!
I hope Louna feels better soon. I know how hard it is when kids are sick. My son went to his pediatrician today because of fever - and we found out he has an ear infection.

Grabe Ana, my kids had high temperature too ! Otits din, normal sickness na yan sa mga toddlers ! I just hope that Louna feels better ! It's a normal reaction of first time parent, covered them with thick sheets! But actually, a warm bath would help or just dip her into warm water sabay doliprane mo or advil ! Ngayon alam ko na :) !

I hope you are okay now too ! Buti meron syang appetite to give her more energy, galing ! Bisous !
