Let Me Out

This picture was taken in one of the carparks in Bangkok. I've travelled quite a lot and for me, this one is a certified 'only in bangkok'. If my car is the one with the red arrow, could you figure out how I could move out of this chaos?

The Solution

Well, I guess nobody will find the solution so here it is. In fact, these Thais don't use their handbrakes when they park their car, so you could actually push these cars one by one without any problem till you get enough space to glide your car in between. But imagine pushing two rows of cars just to move your car out? Well, I saw one lady who pushed probably 5 cars each row to get her car out.. but I have to admit, I had a difficulty figuring it out too.

It is kind of scary but if I'm parked there, it means i have to eventually come out no matter what, so I'll inch slowly until the car I'm trying to butt into will have no choice but to let me in. In this case, aggressiveness is a must. Who cares about honks, so what!

sobra pala traffic sa Bangkok

Agring, thanks, happy holiday din. Hehe, sorry, I was lost, I thought you're moving!
re: digiscrappers, thanks, i just signed in. hoping to get more tips there ;)

Leah, there's some confusion, the two-lane cars are actually parked. so even if you honk to your heart's desire, the car owners won't hear you hehe. they might be still enjoying their shopping spree at the chatuchak market.

ill move my car no matter what, after all huh, they put their car there, they are in risk! hehe!taray..!

or I honk until i get what I want!
kahit na magalit pulis!!!

pero di mo ba nasilip ang inside ng kotseng nakaharang? baka may celphone number na nakasulat to call in case gusto na lumabas, haha!

the 2 lanes car park in front of the arrow cars, are they traffic? or park cars too???

mas grabe pa ang traffic sa taiwan!

Francesca, haha, taray!

Jo, naka park lahat ng car dyan. at walang bantay to call the owners in case na me lalabas.

What the...?! It more looks like a car factory to me than a public parking! I bet it's a valet parking. It has to be.

Nope Makis, it's a public parking, i swear!

I still cant figure how will you manage to drive out from that kind of position. There is no room for turning and such!

I was at the Makati City Hall yesterday...in front, there is the parking lot. The SOLUTION...a bunch of Filipinos scrambling to find the owners of the other cars. Then you tip them after you get out.

Anonymous said...

hm? i thought it was a parking lot!

Chase, i posted the answer ;)

Nao, super cool nga sila e, normal na kasi, so no stress.. i saw this kind of parking everywhere... pakisabi kay fafa richard, wall na yung nasa likod, so dead end din hehe.. lulusot pa e, hala, tulak na hahaha..

VegasFilAmGuy, hay naku, ganyan nga sa pinas, everything involves money :(

Ann, actually, ganyan nga ginagawa ng mga expat colleagues namin dun.. and the taxi is not at all expensive, naka meter pa so walang tawad tawad. and you know that you're paying the price.

Sachiko, it is a parking lot.

Kadyo, haha, that's another good solution.

hahaha sorry i kindof skip that part lol. but it still feels quite heavy pushing some cars dont you think?

and nakakasira ng poise hehe..

Goodness... I think I'd leave my car kung ganyan.

WOW! don't they have parking boys? at least someone can park and take your car out.

Well BKK is really notorious for its traffic. You can even have delivery service from fastfood while you are stuck in traffic. You just need to give the plate and color of your car and the street where you are stuck in. kakaiba di ba?

It seems they are like miniature toys :) ! If this is the case i would take the public transpo, naku baka pag minalas pa eh ma damage pa yung kotse, malaking abala pa !

Ano naka empake ka na ba?
