Life of a Working Mom

I'm no neophyte in the work environment. I dream big no more. Corporate ladder not attractive anymore. Finally, life thought me to evaluate priorities. Balance, balance. I already resigned from my ambitious self, enough stress from work, thank you. Promotions, big responsibilities, big salaries...there's more in life, ya know. All that, just to say, I want to spend quality time with my daughter. Honestly.

Today's Status: Frenchguy on business travel. Moi on an early meeting in Paris tomorrow. Louna staying in her yaya's place for the night. Next rendez-vous with her tomorrow afternoon. Poor lil girl...

the joys of motherhood...!

ana, hirap nga yan. Ask your self na lang, meditate this question:

do you really have to slave yourself to the company, or be with louana, and see her grow on your care?

eto pa ---> conscience effect ko, hihihi:

first steps of louana, first words --> mama!!!, first time climbing a canape, first time walking alone, balancing herself, first time she stumble, first time she hides in the cupboard from you, first time she breaks your best china, (ay thats bad...lol)
Ay oo, Mama should be there and would capture it all...

ako ang iyong konsensya, hala ka!lol

A baby as adorable as Louna can make her career-driven mom to really re-evaluate a mother's priority :) But I'm sure you're great both at work & with Louna!

Girls, Ang mokang na bata, ang sarap daw ng tulog last night sabi ni yaya.. and moi? did not really sleep a lot, woke up around 3am last night as I felt suddenly cold, and so I was worrying that probably Louna was cold too, na baka di sya kumutan ni yaya... I even ran like crazy a while ago to catch my train going to dijon.. frenchguy was calling up non-stop direct from china to get some news (i forgot my phone in the car!).. MIL and PIL doing the same.. hay buhay! and the lil Louna did not even notice the difference hehe..sarap kagatin!

Honestly, I admire women like you because doing 3 task at the same time need a lot of effort. As a wife, a mother and a job ( especially in a foreigh land) is an enormous responsibility but you're doing great Ana and I have a high regard and respect to you and to all the working Mom out there.

I am a stay home Mom and I appreciate to be with my kids but I also dream of working later on because sometimes I need to work my brains out! I feel stagnant because I used to work but when I see my children and husband in good form aahhh I told to myself "fortunately I don't work and I can oversee well things at home, attend to their needs, seeing them growing up etc." It's a matter of choice too. And I agree with Nao time management and organization is what WE ALL NEED!

Bon courage Ana! Anyway, just spend your time during the WE with bébé Louna and I'm sure she's very proud of you & your hubby too! Have a great weekend ! Bises ;-)

Nao, korekek ka dun sis, time management nga..hay, buhay nanay!

Haze, ay, touch naman ako dun. it's true that during my maternity leave, there were days when i wanted to go back to work..probably because of pagod and i wanted to breath fresh new air.. e ngayon naman kasi, there's just too many changes on louna, i wanted to be near her.. hay naku.. but anyways, i dont think ill have to leave dijon ulit till frenchguy's back..sana..

to be a working mom or sahm...

it all depends on your situation and your own personal needs. And only YOU can decide which one would work best for you.

For both situations, sacrifices have to be made. There is NO right nor wrong. We all need to do what we all have to do.

ah, AnP is right... it's a decision only YOU can make. and whatever it will be, it doesn't have to be cut in stone, either.

Francesca, sus, matindi pangangailangan sa pera, kelangang kumita no hehe..

AnP and Ruth, you're right. I guess I will have to ask for position change which requires less traveling (and less thinking si possible)..at least i will stay in one place, no problem..hay buhay..

i am so dreading the day i go back to work! jakey just got a spot in a day care center so he's actually going to start there 2 weeks before my maternity leave ends. i am already sooo sad! bwaahhh!

Louna has a yaya na? Does she like that? =) Lots of moms would like to stay home to look after the kids, but not all are lucky enough to have that option. I wish that in the future I would have that option.

Kat, I had the same sentiments before. During her first day at her yaya's place, it was hard for me to leave her so i was 'unconsciously' creating topics so i could stay longer... till the yaya reminded me I had groceries to do just to shoo me away hehe...

Jovs, we have a number of options here, : check this out, and all are supported by the government. We chosed having a professional nanny for flexibility reasons and the fact that having a place in the nursery or day care center is quite hard. there's just too much demand and we know we are not in the priority list..

Louna's been staying with her yaya since her 3rd month (since i went back to work), bale hatid sundo namin sya sa kanila. Everything seems to be ok naman.
