Preggy Conversations

My Physical Therapist arrives late everytime. And I mean everytime! The good side of this irritating habit is that I could chitchat with other fellow future mamans while waiting for that heavenly on écarte les jambes, on monte et on descend, les jambes tendus (legs apart, up, down with your legs tightened) which means that the session has just started.

Conversations are of course concentrated on pregnancy, labor, epidural, ceasarian, due dates, babies, nurseries, yaya hunt, name it! I meet new moms every session so I normally repeat the same stories and the same questions everytime. Boring? Nope, not at all. As they say, every pregnancy is a unique experience so I get new infos each time and learn from them.

This morning, the conversation started like this:

Nouvelle Maman: So, when will be your due date?
Moi: November 24, very soon!
NM (eyes wide open): Oh!
Moi: And you?
NM: November 3. Sooner than you.
Moi (eyes wide open): Oh!

And I thought I was a month or so earlier than her. The thing is, my baby weighs a bit higher than the average. She was previewed to be 4 kg at birth so I must do a pelvic xray to check if I could eventually do it by normal delivery. I try not to worry myself about delivery issues but heck, my weight gain curve starts to destabilize my zen attitude. So what-have-you? Less sugar, less salt!

I'm starting to complete my D Day checklist, and #1 on the list is ICE CREAM! Miss it! Miss it!

Coucou maman, I understand you completely, I've been there alright ;-) At five months, I was told to literally stop eating rice or I risk giving birth to 5 kilos head! As if I can live without rice! I ate rice twice a week! Then the "birthing" classes... When I was on the delivery table and 6 cm dilated, all that was learned disappeared!!! Just totally evaporated with the mask they put on my face. It was an easy labor. We walked to the clinic, stopped twice during contractions. Three hours and a half after we checked, David came out, all slimy, wet and yucky! But oh the JOY! Good luck to you! Take it easy though...

nice crib. is that next to your bed or in a separate room? Pinoy as i am, i thought i could let my baby sleep on his own in his room, but no, it was a struggle. Now he's almost three and his bed is IN our bedroom, and his bedroom is now just a PLAYroom! My English husband can only shake his head....

Soy, it's in a separate room. Frenchguy doesnt like the idea of having one bedroom for everybody, well, it's not their culture..but since i'll be breastfeeding, i guess i could allow co-sleeping once in a while, after each feeding..

Wow, malapit na. Hope things will go just fine for you. I wonder how does it feel a week or few days bago manganak? I'm sure you'll be fine girl. Take care.

Hi Angelove, thanks for visiting my hideaway...the feeling? hmmm, nakakainip na actually, sobrang bigat na and you could feel the baby's every movement but you just cant hug him...the waiting is another story, since it will be my first, i dont really know when will be the go signal, they say, it's this and that, but every pregnancy is a unique one, so i have to wait my time, how, when, i dont realy know..malalaman ko na lang daw..
